The introduction of Barbary sheep, or aoudad, to West Texas unleased a mix bag of consequences.
Maybe you've seen them grazing along our mountainsides or moving through the canyons below and wondered..."What is that?" The Barbary sheep, or aoudad, started out as an imported exotic meant for hunting on ranches. Now it's an invasive species that seems to be unstoppable. Come find out all about this impressive west Texas wildlife staple.
Meet: at the Amphitheater (near campsite #22)
Bring: hat, water, cushion (we'll be sitting on wooden benches)
Cost: free for campers or day users w/ permit - daily entrance fee is $6.00/adult, or free for the carload with Texas State Park Pass
