Become a citizen scientist and help document nature around the park!

With the help of the iNaturalist app, you can help gather important data that can be used in the future! Citizen science is a great way to learn more about the world around you.

Document your species in the park and add them to our Dinosaur Valley State Park Flora and Fauna project on iNaturalist!

Need help? Join our BioBlitz Beginners program to learn how to to use iNaturalist!

Note: This will be a self-guided event that you can participate in just by visiting the park!

Bring: Your phone with iNaturalist or Seek installed, binoculars or a nice camera (if you have one), water, and closed-toed shoes.

Note: Cell service can vary in the park, if you do not have service, not to worry! You can still document the species you find and then it will post to iNaturalist once you have service again.

Cost: Free with park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.

Want to speed up your entry process? Reserve online in advance.

You do not need to reserve a spot specifically for this program, it is included in a camping or day use permit. We do ask you make camping or day-use reservations online in advance.
