The Atlatl: A Hurl into the Past

Join rangers to discover the atlatl tool and how it was used in primitive hunting techniques by our earliest inhabitants of North America.

Try your hand at spear throwing and see if you can successfully hit our targets.

Meet at: Equestrian Field

Please note: This event is for participants ages 10 & up. The event includes throwing a projectile point. There may be a short waiting period between participants while equipment is in use.  

Bring: Water, closed-toed shoes, dress for the weather. Equipment provided. 

Cost: Free with your park admission. Park admission is free with a Texas Parks Pass.
