Come learn the basics of fishing at this fun, FREE clinic!
This free class is designed to introduce participants ages 6 and up to the sport of fishing using fun, hands-on activities.
Topics will include fishing rules and regulations and ethics; fishing safety; marine debris and it’s impact on the environment; rods, reels, and terminal tackle; fishing knots; assembling a spin cast rod and reel; identification/handling/measuring in shore salt water fish, what they eat and where to find them; equipping your tackle box; spin cast casting instruction/practice; a tour of the fish hatchery; and, weather permitting, a chance to catch and release a fish at Sea Center Texas.
Please bring water, snacks and a lunch to eat on site. Expect to be outside about half the time and dress accordingly.
All educational materials, equipment and bait are provided.
No fishing license is required for this activity.
Youth must be accompanied by an adult at all times - No drop-offs, please.
