Learn to Fish - First Catch Center, Brownsville

Bring the family to learn the basics of fishing through fun, hands-on activities at this 1/2 day event.

The event is FREE, but pre-registration is REQUIRED. Persons age 17 and older must have a fishing license.

Please arrive at 9 AM,  and plan to stay for this 4-Hour clinic. 

Youth and adults can learn the basics of fishing. Equipment and bait will be provided, or bring your own gear. Topics will include fishing equipment and tackle box basics, knot-tying, fishing rules and regulations, fish ID and habitat, angler ethics, proper fish handling techniques, water and boat safety, environmental stewardship, and some local tips, tricks and techniques to catch fish.

Bring water and snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, and chairs.  Dress for the weather - wear a hat, sunglasses, comfortable clothes and shoes that will probably get wet and dirty. Adults must accompany children.
