Become a BSA Certified Angling Instructor and a TPWD Angler Education Instructor! Hosted by the BSA National Fishing Committee, BSA Longhorn Council, and Texas Parks and Wildlife Dept.

Deliver a Quality Fishing Program
Scouts deserve the opportunity to learn how to fish and to enjoy fishing for a lifetime of pleasure. The CAI course will prepare you on how best to bring fishing to Scouts. In addition, the TPWD certification will enable you to borrow equipment (where available) and order literature – all free.

Our objective is to give Scouters tools and ideas to get Scouts fishing. Ignite your desire for introducing Scouts to the wonderful world of fishing. A Boy’s Life survey found that Scouts chose fishing as their fourth most preferred outdoor activity, yet only 35% go fishing within Scouting. Become a Fishing Advocate for your unit, district and council. Share your passion for fishing and utilize fishing as a beneficial tool for recruitment, retention and reactivation. CAI course developed and directed by the BSA National Fishing Committee.
