TPWD Angler Education Instructor Training Workshop - CANCELLED

Unfortunately this workshop has been cancelled due to low enrollment.

This free workshop is open to anyone 18 or older interested in learning and/or teaching fishing skills in their communities. No fishing experience or equipment needed. The program provides the curriculum, equipment (where available), materials and support to help volunteers successfully introduce youth and adults to fishing. Ideal for teachers, scout or youth group leaders, afterschool or camp staff and community volunteers. TEA-approved CPE credit available for teachers. Participants should wear comfortable clothing for outdoor activities bring a sack lunch and a water bottle, preferably reusable.

Pre-registration is required BEFORE the workshop:    

Step 1: Use your phone, iPad or computer to register for the TPWD “Angler Education Instructor Training Pending – statewide” Opportunity at  (Select the blue Sign-Up button)

  • For new TPWD volunteers: click on the blue “Apply to become a volunteer” link at the bottom and follow the prompts to create a volunteer profile. Please remember to authorize and complete the Criminal Background Check section.  All fields must be completed including your date of birth and Driver’s License number. 
  • For current TPWD volunteers: Enter your TPWD User ID and password and click on the blue  “Log In” button

Step 2:
To complete registration, call or email the workshop leader with your TPWD Volunteer User ID, first and last name, and the workshop date. The workshop leader is Keira Quam at or (469) 644-2705.
