Tour the universe with the Hill Country Astronomers!

NOTE: DATE CHANGE FROM Saturday, February 9th to Saturday, February 23rd.

Join members of the Hill Country Astronomers and staff of Enchanted Rock SNA for a tour through space. Multiple telescopes will be set up in the lower parking lot for viewing the moon, stars and deep space objects.

As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.

Check in at the park headquarters to obtain entrance permit and get directions to party location. It is strongly suggested you bring cash to pay for your park permit. Park in parking lots 2 or 3.

Event Location: Parking Lot 1. There is no hiking for this event.

Bring

  • Your imagination
  • Lawn chair (optional)
  • Dress for the weather

Please no flashlights or cell phones while at the Star Party (it can take 20-30 minutes for eyes to adjust from bright light to darkness). Red tinted lights are permitted.

Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee to attend this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Texas State Parks has gone to a new reservation system. Without a day-use reservation to the park, we cannot guarantee your entry for this event.

**This event is weather dependent. Check our Facebook page for the most up to date information.**

If you are arriving before or after office hours, you will need to use the self-pay station to obtain your park entrance permit. The self-pay station is located at the front of the office and is cash (exact change), check or Texas State Parks Pass only.
