Celebrate the dark skies over Enchanted Rock!

Join members of the Hill Country Astronomers and park staff for a tour through space. Multiple telescopes will be set up in the Lower Parking Lot for viewing stars, star clusters, galaxies and more!

As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.

Check-in all visitors must check-in at park headquarters during office hours or at the self-pay station outside of office hours.

Location Lower Parking Lot. There is no hiking as part of this program. Parking will be in the Campground or Summit Parking Lots. Let us know if you need any special accommodations!

  • Dress for the weather

Please no white flashlights or cell phone use while at the Star Party (it can take 20-30 minutes for eyes to adjust from bright light to darkness). Red tinted lights are permitted.

Entrance fees: $8/adult; children 12 and under are free; no additional fees for this event. Entry is free with an active Texas State Parks Pass. A reservation is required to enter the state natural area on weekends, holidays and/or school breaks. you can make reservations online at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com.

All programs are weather dependent -- if it rains, the Summit Trail and all elevated trails and areas of the park are closed. Also, if it's cloudy -- stars will not be visible.

IMPORTANT: Reservations are required to enter the State Natural Area Friday through Monday, on holidays and/or during school breaks. You can check pass availability online at TexasStateParks.ReserveAmerica.com. All visitors must be in the park prior to 8PM when the entrance gate closes.

If you are arriving before or after office hours, you will need to use the self-pay station to obtain your park entrance permit. The self-pay station is located at the front of the office and is cash (exact change), check, reservation or Texas State Parks Pass only.
