CANCELLED - :( Unfortunately, it looks like rain tomorrow. Fortunately, we could use it. :)

Ahoy, mateys! Join us in celebrating Talk Like a Pirate Day by following the map to find treasure in the sky. Learn how pirates of yore would have depended on the sun, moon and stars to find their way above the briny deep. Then move forward to the present day and what we are still discovering, hidden beneath the stars that fill the skies like sand!

As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. We will be bare eye stargazing. Feel free to bring your own telescope or camera.

Location Lower Parking Lot. There is no hiking as part of this program.
Park in the Summit Parking or RV Parking lots.

8:00-8:30PM - argh eyes adjust and we talk about 'night vision' (talk about dark skies!)
8:30-9:15PM - start navigating our way through the stars (starrrrrrgazing!)
9:15-10:00PM - enjoy the sea of starrrrs on your own.
