Explore the history of “El Fortin” at night while learning about its myths and legends.

  • Meet: Fort Leaton Parking Lot
  • Accessibility: Parking will be available at the Fort Leaton parking lot. Restrooms are available inside the Fort.  
  • What to expect: Lantern lead guided tour of the Fort Leaton State Historic Site. Local folklore stories may be based on some truth or maybe they’re all tall tales, you decide. Walk around the Fort learning spooky stories and tails of murder at the Fort.  
  • What to bring: Dress for the weather, comfortable clothing and Flashlights.
  • Fees: Program is included in park entry fees- $5 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Register at one of our Visitor Centers- Fort Leaton State Historic Site or Barton Warnock Visitor Center before closing hours- 4:30pm. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Big Bend Ranch State Park Page or you can call park headquarters.
