Girl Scouts Love State Parks: Lake Critters Discovery

Calling all local Girl Scouts who love exploration and nature! Did you know insects can help us determine water quality and are a huge part of the ecosystem? Let’s explore what type of water dwelling insects are in Sullivan Lake! All Girl Scout troops, individual Scouts, and Girl Scouts’ families and friends are invited to participate!

• Become an explorer and find what insects are right below the surface of the water!
• We will identify Macroinvertebrates (aquatic insects) and observe the conditions of the lake.
• All ages welcome!
• Bring water, a hat, and sunscreen! * If you would like to step into the lake while exploring, bring water shoes! *
• Meet at the Gazebo. All supplies will be provided.

After the program, grab a Self-Guided Bug Hike, and at your own pace, see what insects may be on the trail!

Event is free with a Texas State Parks Pass, Parklands Passport or daily entrance.  Daily entrance is $3 per person (13 years and older), 12 years and younger is free.
