America 250: Constitution to Nature

We the People... are the stewards of the land, animals, history, culture and much more. Come sign your own declaration of independence as we celebrate the founding of the United States.

Small elements in nature can have enormous impacts on human history, and understanding these connections deepens our appreciation for both.

• Meet: Fort Leaton courtyard
• Accessibility: Parking will be available at the parking lot of Fort Leaton.

• What to expect: We will get our hands dirty by using oak gall ink to make our historic document. 
• What to bring: Water
• Fees: Program is included in park entry fees- $5 per person ages 13 and older, 12 and under are free. Register at one of our Visitor Centers- Fort Leaton State Historic Site or Barton Warnock Visitor Center. We will also be at the Presidio 4th of July celebration that night at 9pm. Admission is free with Texas State Park Pass. Programs are subject to cancellation in the event of inclement weather. Cancellations will be announced on Fort Leaton State Historic Site, or you can call park headquarters. Please make RESERVATIONS ahead of time.
