Join park ranger Arian to learn what's cooking in the borderlands!
We will take a step back in time to explore the historical foods in the La Junta de Los Ríos region and sample some of the delicious harvest! Prickly Pear (Opuntia) is abundant in the Chihuahuan Desert and indigenous people survived off of it.
Come enjoy some cactus tacos at the Fort.
Drop by the kitchen area at Fort Leaton anytime from 1:00pm-3:00pm.
Cost: This event is free with park admission, $5 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.
