Desert Oasis Hike

9:00a to 11:00a
Sat, March 16, 2024
Stahr Seck
(432) 229-3613, x302

No, it's not a mirage, it's a riparian zone! Explore the fantastical Ojito Adentro Trail with Ranger Stahr to see how life can flourish in such a dry environment.

Your eyes aren't fooling you, there really are trees and flowing water in the desert! This hike will take you on an adventure through the lush riparian zone of Ranger Stahr's favorite trail in Big Bend Ranch State Park (shh, don't tell the other trails that). Come discover how the Chihuahuan Desert has been able to sustain astonishing biological diversity despite its harsh weather patterns. Keep an eye out for birds, butterflies, and other pollinators along the way.

What to expect: A 1.5-mile hike that requires the ability to duck low and climb over boulders to reach end of trail. Modified routes and accommodations can be made if you reach out to us in advance.

When: Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 9:00 AM- 11:00 AM
