Legends of Fort Leaton (By Reservation Only)

La Llorona, shots in the dark, colorful characters, and legends passed down through the oral traditions of the borderlands—all of these come to life through the stories and features of Fort Leaton.

Fort Leaton, a former trading post on the Rio Grande, is steeped in legend and mystery. Walk with a park ranger through the candlelit Fort to discover the hidden history of one of the largest adobe structures in Texas.

When? These tours are offered after-hours, at 7:00 and 8:00 p.m. Tours are free of charge.

Reservation Information: Reservations are required. Each tour is limited to a single group of no more than 10 who are travelling together.

Safety considerations:  Visitors should practice social distancing (6 feet) with all individuals outside of their party.

Masks are required in confined spaces within Texas State Park buildings.
