Join a park ranger for a tour of some of the darkest night skies in the continental United States!

The constellations have guided indigenous peoples of the big bend for thousands of years and now modern peoples are drawn to Big Bend Ranch State Park as a last frontier for dark sky exploration. Join a park ranger to learn some of the “native” constellation legends of the Big Bend Region.

Did you know? Big Bend Ranch State Park is a gold-tier International Dark Sky Park.

What to expect: Orientation,  star hopping, constellation identification, and stories of the night sky.

Bring: A chair and blanket!

Meet: at the Air Strip in the park's interior.   The air strip is located exactly one mile past the Sauceda Ranger Station.
