Are BATS really the notorious, secretive creatures their sinister reputations make them out to be? Fort Parker is home to several species of bats. Come join us and learn the thrilling truths about these mysterious predators of the night!

Flying Fox

In cultures all over the world, bats have captured the imagination of storytellers and audiences alike.  These storytellers have attributed mysterious, supernatural qualities to these animals.  Bats are the only mammals that can fly, and they live much of their lives hanging upside down.  Most species are only active at night, dusk and dawn, spending their days in dark caves.  We'll sort out the facts from the myths and see how bats do the amazing things they do.  We'll also look at the many ways in which bats help humans and discover what could happen if these animals aren't preserved.
