Turkey Trot 2026

Ready, set… GOBBLE!

Join us Thanksgiving morning for a Turkey Trot through Fort Richardson State Park! Whether you’re running the 5K or taking a leisurely 1-mile walk, come enjoy a fun morning in the park.

And if you want to get into the Thanksgiving spirit, dress up in your best turkey outfit!

Give back while you trot!
We’re asking each participant to bring a donation of dog or cat food for their registration. All pet food donations will go to the City of Jacksboro Animal Shelter to help support our local furry friends.

Things You Should Know:
Meet: Parade Grounds
When: 5K starts at 8:30 AM, 1-mile walk starts at 8:15 AM
Bring: Water, salt packets, and any running gear or turkey outfit you would like
For the event, we are asking for donations of pet food (dog and cat) for the Jacksboro Animal Shelter. **Registration is separate from your entrance fee to the park.
Cost: Attendance to this event is open to the public and free AFTER regular day use or camping fees. Park admission is free with a Texas State Park Pass (purchased before the event).
