CANCELED - Upper Sunset Hike

9:00a to 12:00p
Sat, April 18, 2020
(915) 566-6441

Come explore the beautiful Chihuahua desert on a guided hike with one of our volunteer guides. Reservations required; to reserve your spot, call the office at (915) 566-6441.

This is a moderately difficult 2.6-mile hike and is excellent for families, beginner hikers, or geology and wildlife enthusiasts. We’ll encounter some elevation gains, with some short steep inclines/declines, a few rocky/rough sections, and great vistas as we walk along the ridgeline.

Meeting Location: Southern Lower Sunset Trailhead. When you enter Tom Mays, stop by the booth and let the Ranger on duty know you are part of the hike. This is where you will pay the fee. Take the first sharp left after passing the booth and find a parking space.

Bring: water, snacks, hiking boots/shoes, and comfortable clothes.

Optional: binoculars, hiking stick, camera, and a map.

Fee: $5 for adults 13 years old and up; $0 for Texas State Park Pass holders and children between the ages of 5-12 years old.
