Three ecosystems of birding - beach, prairie, and bay!
Join us on a guided birding tour through Galveston Island State Park’s three major ecosystems: beach, coastal prairie, and bay to help learn avian species and the area's ecological importance.
This walk is for birders from beginning to advanced who want to learn more about the park's 200+ species! Be sure you are up to the adventure!
This hike has very little shade, so hats and sunglasses are highly recommended. Plan ahead - you could walk for several miles.
- Bring: Optics (we have a few pairs available for loan), sunscreen, bug spray, water, weather appropriate clothing and hiking appropriate shoes.
- Optional: Camera, bird ID guides, snack
- Meet: Nature Center
- May drive to other locations in the park.
- Cost: Entry fee is $5 for adults and FREE for children 12 & under. Park entry free with a State Parks Pass.
