Walk, skip, or stroll the vanishing grasslands filled with games, fun, and family-activities!

Come visit the last 1% of coastal prairie and find out about this paradise lost....

FREE ADMISSION, games, prizes, and activities to entertain and educate the whole family.

Start off the New Year by seeing the beauty of nature while taking part in family-friendly fun outdoor activities. The Nature Walk-About will be held at Galveston Island State Park on the bay-side of FM 3005, near 13-Mile Road. You can pick from four trails:

  • Duck Lake trail (0.3 miles)
  • Clapper Rail loop (0.7 miles)
  • Caracara trail (0.4 miles)
  • Fresh Water Pond loop (1.8 miles)

Walk as much or as little as you’d like.
