Christmas Bird Count

Participate in a citizen science bird count by spending the day observing birds. This event is in accusation with the National Audubon Society Christmas Bird Count. Experienced birders and novice birders are need.

Park Staff and Texas Master Naturalist volunteers will lead teams through the park to view as many birds as possible on December 28th. 

All bird counters will check-in at the Group Screen Shelter at 8:00 am to be assigned group leaders and observation areas. The final count will take place at 5:00 pm at the Group Screen Shelter.

Bird will be continuous throughout the day. Please bring comfortable shoes, binoculars (if you have them), water, and a jacket. Lunch options are limited in the area, so a sack lunch is recommended. 

Participants are not required to stay for the entire event but must at the morning check in to participate.
