Join a ranger on a 1-mile hike as we look high and low for birds, including some South Texas specialties!

From the treed banks of the San Antonio River to open grassland, Goliad State Park offers diverse habitat that many bird species call home. Some of the birds commonly seen include green jays, long-billed thrashers, golden-fronted woodpeckers, olive sparrows, Inca doves, red-shouldered hawks, crested caracaras, eastern bluebirds, and many more.

There is a limited number of binoculars available to loan for this program. Please feel free to bring your own binoculars and/or camera.

Meet in the day-use area.

Wear comfortable shoes and dress for the weather.

Program is free with park entrance ($4 per adult, free for children 12 & under).

Subject to cancellation in the event of bad weather.
