Mission Rosario History Tour

See the ruins of Mission Rosario and learn about its history on a guided tour of this historic site.

Like the reconstructed Mission Espiritu Santo, Mission Rosario was a Spanish colonial mission with the intent of creating Spanish citizens from the Native Americans living in the area. Established in 1794 in hopes of converting the Karankawa, what remains now are the ruins of walls and buildings still standing on the hilltop. Available for tour only by guided programs, this tour offers a very special view and insight into a mission unlike others of its time.

Parking is limited so please carpool if possible.

Tour is free with park entrance ($4 per adult, free for children 12 & under).

Be advised, there is no restroom, seating, or shade at Mission Rosario. Please dress for the weather and bring water. Close-toed shoes are recommended.

Mission Rosario is located about 4 miles west of Goliad State Park on Highway 59 (just past the San Antonio River).
