Join us for crafts and activities at the mission! Different activities will be offered each day of spring break.
Bring the kids for a fun, hands-on craft or activity each day of spring break!
Monday: Corn Husk Dolls - meet on mission porch
Before toy stores, toys were often made with whatever materials were available. Corn husks were used to create intricate, personalized dolls used as toys, holiday decor, and more!
Tuesday: Pinch Pots - meet on mission porch
Pottery making was a very important part of life for mission inhabitants. Learn how to make a pinch pot, make your own pot with air-dry clay, decorate it, and take it home!
Wednesday: God's Eye Weaving - meet on mission porch
A popular craft for youth, God's Eye weaving has a long and meaningful history. Learn what these colorful creations were used for and bring your own home!
Thursday: Ranching and Roping - meet on mission grounds
Learn why Goliad is known as the Birthplace of Texas Ranching and try your hand at roping!
Friday: Cordage - meet on mission porch
Native Americans had to find ways to use plants and animals in useful ways, including using plants to make rope. Learn how yucca leaves were used and create your own piece of cordage to take home!
