Find out why vaqueros had such a distinctive style of dress!

The vaqueros were the first "cowboys" of Texas. Before Texas was an independent state, these vaqueros were roping cattle through the scrubby brush of South Texas and Mexico. Vaqueros stood out with their beautiful outfits, and those outfits, known as charro outfits, had a very interesting story behind them. Come hear that story and see the charro outfit from a new perspective!

Program is free with park entrance ($4 per person, free for kids 12 & under).

Program takes place on mission porch.
