Archery 101 Day

Discover your new favorite hobby: archery!

Learn and practice the basics of archery with a ranger. This program is an introduction to basic archery and will provide lessons and experience in archery safety and shooting skills. All archery and safety equipment is provided.

Please arrive at the Day Use Picnic Area at least 10 minutes before your designated start time.

Bring:

  • Drinking water
  • Closed-toed shoes (tennis shoes are best)
  • This program is outdoors; please dress for the weather.

 

Registration is required via phone (361-729-2858) or in person at Park Headquarters.

Register for one of four time slots:

  • 9:00-10:15 a.m.
  • 10:30-11:45 a.m.
  • 1:00-2:15 p.m.
  • 2:30-3:45 p.m.

FYI:

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
  • Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
  • Groups larger than eight please contact Sarah Nordlof for a private event.
  • Program may be cancelled if no participants are present within 10 minutes of the start time, or in the case of inclement weather.
