Start your morning off right...

Join a ranger on a hike of Turks Cap Trail before it gets too hot. The trail is 0.66 miles, but we'll circle around to our starting point which should come out to about 1 mile total. This guided hike will cover topics such as native plants and wildlife, and how the park came to be. There is limited parking at the trailhead, but other spots available nearby.

Where: Meet at the Turks Cap Trailhead near site 157

Bring: Water, sunscreen, bug repellant, and walking shoes

Length: 1 mile. There will be an option to turn around to make it a shorter hike of about .5 miles.

Difficulty: Easy

FYI:

  • Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.
  • Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.
  • Groups larger than eight please contact Ranger Sara for a private event (sara.rock@tpwd.texas.gov)
