Nature Journaling

10:00a to 11:00a

It's not about how well you can write or draw. It's about taking the time to reflect, notice, and relax.

Join us for a guided experience in nature journaling. Nature journaling is not about how well you can write or sketch; it is about a dedicated time to sit, relax, and focus on what you hear, see, and feel while sitting in nature; it is about taking time to really notice. Bonus: it's really good for your health!

We'll take a short walk around the picnic area to learn about the benefits of nature journaling, and you'll have the opportunity to start your own journal. No writing or artistic skills are required! All ages are welcome, but participants should be able to sit quietly and focus for an extended period of time.

Meet: At the day use picnic area

Bring: water, sun protection, bug repellant, and an open mind.

Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the duration of the program.

Program is free with park entrance ($5/person, children 12 & under are free) or Texas State Parks Annual Pass.

Reserving your day pass in advance is strongly encouraged and can be done at Use self-pay station when office is closed.

Program may be cancelled in the case of inclement weather.
