Father's Day Hike

Bring your favorite Dad and hike to an amazing view on the Bluff Spurs Trail.

This hike is approximately 4 miles in length with a fair amount of elevation gain over rocky, rugged terrain. Open to all ages; minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please.

Meet at the Rainwater Tower next to the Visitor Center. Dress for hiking outdoors; sunscreen and hat are recommended. Wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails; bring two (2) liters of water PER PERSON, and a snack. Open to the first 15 who check in with the hike leader between 8:00-8:15 a.m. Plan to arrive early as mornings can be very busy. The Natural Area’s front gates open at 7:00 a.m.; plan to check in at the Visitor Center and be ready to go no later than 8:15 a.m. The hike starts promptly at 8:30 a.m.

Though the activity is free, entrance fees to the Natural Area do apply. We often fill to capacity. To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please pre-purchase and print out a day pass. Day passes can be reserved beginning one month before the date of your visit. Please note: reserving a Day Pass does not guarantee a spot for you on the hike! The hike is limited to the first 15 participants to check-in with the hike leader.
