Hike Thru Time: Geology of GCSNA for Kids, Ages 10-15

Did you know that long ago dinosaurs roamed San Antonio and the beach was only minutes away? Kids ages 10 -15 may join Friends of Government Canyon volunteers on a special WEEKDAY guided hike to explore the aquifer, geology and dinosaurs of GCSNA. Meet at the rainwater tower outside the Visitor’s Center no later than 7:45 AM as the hike will begin promptly at 8:00 AM. Dress for the weather, wear sturdy footwear, and bring sunscreen, a hat, a snack and at least TWO liters of water PER PERSON. Group size is limited to 20. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Participants must be capable of hiking a total of 5 miles; approximately 4 hours; over rugged terrain with some elevation gain. No pets please. Reservations are required for BOTH the school child AND his/her accompanying adult. Only those registered will be allowed on the hike.
