National Trails Day-Guided Hike

Bluff Spurs

Join volunteers from the Government Canyon Activities Committee as we celebrate National Trails Day!  We’ll be hiking the Bluff Spurs trail, leading to one of the best overlooks at the Natural Area. Participants must be age 10 or older and able to hike approximately 3 miles round trip over rocky, uneven terrain with some elevation change. Minors must be accompanied by their parent or legal guardian. No pets please. Dress for hiking outdoors, wear sturdy footwear appropriate for rough trails, bring two liters of water PER PERSON and a snack. Sunscreen and hat also recommended.

Reservations/registration required! This hike is limited to the first 12 people who register (sorry no group reservations). Reserve your spot online at Registration opens on Saturday two weeks prior to the event and closes at noon the Thursday before the event.

Meet at the Frontcountry trailhead in Parking Lot C; plan to be at the Frontcountry trailhead and ready to go no later than 7:45AM. The Natural Area front gates open at 7:00AM; the hike starts promptly at 8:00AM. This hike is subject to cancellation. Check trail conditions by going to the GCSNA Twitter feed or the GCSNA Facebook Page. Natural Area entrance fees apply.
