Watercolor in the Canyon

Learn how watercolors can capture your visit to Government Canyon!

Artists have used nature for inspiration for ages. Join us from 4PM-5PM and take a closer look at nature with a paintbrush in your hand. We’ll go over the basics of watercolor painting, and you’ll have time to paint your own souvenir of the canyon. Best for ages 10 and up. Meet at the Group Pavilion off of Parking Lot A, near the Visitors Center. No pets please. This program is being held in an accessible facility – let us know if you need any accommodations to make this program work for you.

Though the program itself is free, Natural Area entry fees do apply.

To ensure entrance and save time at the Fee Booth, please reserve and PRINT OUT your Day Pass by going to: https://texasstateparks.reserveamerica.com/camping/government-canyon-state-natural-area/r/deDetails.do?contractCode=TX&parkId=1200058

IMPORTANT INFO: This is an after-hours program. If you DO NOT reserve your Day Pass in advance, you will need correct change at the entry Fee Booth and be sure to self-register there. Instructions are posted to the right of the Fee Booth: $6 per adult (13 years or older) or enter your annual Texas State Parks pass number on the appropriate line of the self-pay envelope.
