Homeschool Class: Botany

Experience Guadalupe River State Park as an outdoor classroom in this program for school-age kids!

Guadalupe River State Park’s homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades K-5. Classes are usually held on the second full week of the month (September through May), and you can choose between Wednesday at 10am, Thursday at 10am or Friday at 10am. We will cover a different topic every month, so don’t miss out!

March's topic is botany. Students will learn about the importance of plants, botany basics, and how to identify common plants, trees and wildflowers native to the area.

Registration: Program is limited to 25 students.

As of 03/20/2024, space in Friday's class has become available. Register here.

Please register only if you are sure your child can attend. If your plans change, email to cancel so that another child can have that spot.

Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water
Meet: Meet at the amphitheater behind the Discovery Center
Fees: None; Entry fees will be waived under an educational waiver for the student and their parent or guardian

If ADA assistance is required, please email at least 2 weeks in advance.

**Park programs are subject to change/cancellation in the event of inclement weather**
