Homeschool Classes at the Park

Experience Guadalupe River State Park as an outdoor classroom in this program for school-age kids!

Guadalupe River State Park's homeschool program is a set of outdoor classes for homeschool kiddos grades K-5 (ages 5-10). Classes are usually held on the second full week of the month (September through May--excluding January), and you can choose between Wednesday at 10am, Thursday at 10am or Friday at 10am. We will cover a different topic every month, so don’t miss out!

September- All about the river
October- Bats
November- Trees
December- Mammals and their adaptations

Registration: Program is limited to 25 students each offering. Register here.

As of 9:10am, classes for the fall are full. While there is no wait list, we encourage you to check back during the week in which classes are offered to see if anyone has cancelled. These openings will reflect on the sign-up link. Additionally, if you signed up a child under the age of 5, they will be dropped from the class roster.

Please register only if you are sure your child can attend. If your plans change, email aaron.o'neal@tpwd.texas.gov to cancel so that another child can have that spot. There is no waitlist. You will be dropped if no-shows occur.

Prepare: Dress for the weather and bring water
Meet: Guadalupe River State Park (Logistics will be emailed out on the Friday the week before classes)
Fees: None; entry fees will be waived under an educational waiver for the student and their parent or guardian
