Celebrate 70 years of history, nature and recreation at Huntsville State Park.

In the 1930's, local residents wanted a park and raised the funds to purchase the land and donate it to the Texas Parks Board. A Civilian Conservation Corps company made up of African American Veterans began building the infrastructure. After World War 2 the Texas Forest Service completed the project and the park opened up May 18th, 1956.
We will be celebrating in Ravens Lodge with information and history of the park. Fishings Future will be joining us to talk about recreational opportunities on the lake. Local Game Warden will be out to talk about safety on Lake Raven. S'mores and more to be had.
We are also thanking our guests by offering free day entry to the park on this day. Come on out and celebrate.
