Let's make 2020 even more epic by keeping a year-long nature journal!

“When one tugs at a single thing in nature, he finds it attached to the rest of the world.” -John Muir

Join us to learn tips and tricks for keeping a nature journal. It's our goal to keep a nature journal for the entire year, with at least one entry per month. This is a unique journey through the natural world around us - whether that natural world is here at the state park or in your own backyard. Join us in this quest!

Meet: At the picnic tables by the admin bldg.

What to bring: We will provide pencils/pens and some paper. You're welcome to bring a spiral notebook or anything you'd like to journal with. Sometimes simple is better!

What to expect: We will talk a little about the art of nature journaling, talk about different ways to keep a journal, and provide a list of some prompts. This will set everyone up for journaling through a quarter of the year (January, February, and March). We will also talk about goal setting. For example, the park's goal is to write a journal entry at least once a month, for a total of three entries for the first part of the year. Your goal may be different!

This program is free to attend with paid park entrance ($4 per adult, kids 12 and under are free).
