First Day Hike: South Onion Creek Trail

Celebrate the New Year with a hike!

Join us for a First Day Hike on the south portion of Onion Creek Trail! This portion of the trail allows for nice views of the lake and connects to our disc golf course. We are currently the only Texas State Park with a disc golf course - feel free to bring your discs or borrow some from our Park Headquarters! We will have hot chocolate and coffee available too.

The trail is grassy and has a few spots that are uneven (slight inclines). The hike is a loop, approximately 1.5 miles total. 

If you'd like a more casual hike, we have a First Day Hike: Dragonfly Trail at 9AM. Same meeting area (Equestrian area).

Distance: about 1.5 miles round-trip

Please dress for the weather. Binoculars are recommended for any potential wildlife sightings. We will update Facebook in the event of winter weather conditions.

This program is free to attend with paid park entrance ($4 per adult, kids 12 and under are free), or a Texas State Park Pass.
