Join a park ranger to learn about this ancient hunting tool

Stop by and learn about the atlatl (spear-thrower), a weapon system that pre-dates bows and arrows, then try your hand at throwing one! Adult supervision required for participants under 17.

Meet at the Equestrian area. 

We throw darts in a cleared area but there is shade nearby. Water, sunscreen, and a hat are recommended.

This program is free to attend with paid park entrance or a Texas State Park Pass.
