"Getting to Know our Trails" Series: Mesquite Bend Trail - 9 am

Find out more about local plants and how people used them on our third hike in this series!

Lake Casa Blanca has four miles of hiking and biking trails, each with a very different feel. In this four-week series, we'll hike a different trail each week, and find out about each trail's unique features.

Mesquite Bend is an easy to moderate 1.5 mile trail that winds through the monte (brush). During this hike, we'll get familiar with the plants that make up the brush, including one that provided the most important plant food source for Native Americans of the southwest!

Meet at the Boat Ramp Restrooms. Wear good walking shoes, dress for the weather, and bring drinking water. All ages welcome!

Note: Park programs are open to the public and free with park entrance fee ($4 per person ages 13 and up; children 12 and under are free). No need to register -- just show up!
