Enjoy the beginning of 2024 in the great outdoors!

Meet a ranger at Catfish Point Trail for a guided hike to discover the variety, beauty, and tranquility of the South Texas thornscrub. Participants also get a First Day Hike sticker!

This trail is 0.9 miles long and is easy to moderate due to some slight elevation changes. If you would like to reserve our all-terrain wheelchair for this program, please send us an email.

Meet: At the trailhead to Catfish Point Trail.

Bring: Comfortable walking shoes, water, sun protection, and clothing for the weather. Cameras and binoculars are also welcome, but not required.

Cost: Free with a park entrance pass. Entrance passes are $5 for each person 13 years or older and free for each person 12 or younger.

Note:

  • All ages are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • This program is weather-dependent, and programs are subject to changes or cancellations. Call the park for the most up-to-date information.
  • If no participants show up by 15 minutes past the scheduled start time, the program will be considered canceled.
