Start your journey to becoming a Junior Ranger today!

Join a ranger and start your journey to becoming a Junior Ranger with Texas State Parks.

For this program, we will take a short walk on Kiskadee Trail and then work on activities in the Texas State Park's Junior Ranger Journal in the Birding Area. We will complete enough activities for participants ages 6-7 to earn a badge. Older individuals may have to work on their journals in their own time to complete enough activities to earn a badge.

Meet: At Kiskadee Trailhead.

Bring: Close-toed shoes, sun protection, water, and a writing utensil.

Cost: Free with park admission ($5 for each person 13 and older, free for each person 12 and younger).

Notes:

  • This program is best suited for individuals ages 6+.
  • All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
  • If no participants arrive for the program within 15 minutes of the start time, the program will be considered canceled.
  • This program is weather-dependent, and programs are subject to changes or cancellations. Call the park for the most up-to-date information.
