Red Trail Hike (Full Loop)

The Red Trail is now a full loop! Join us as we explore both the Lower and newly opened Upper Red Trail.

The Red Trail is now a full loop!  Join us as we explore both the Lower and newly opened Upper Red Trail.  This route allows hikers to complete the trail without walking along the road or doubling back.  Expect a mix of terrain, scenic views, and a chance to experience this updated trail from start to finish.

What to bring: Wear sturdy hiking shoes and bring water,

Where to meet: The Penitentiary Hollow Trailhead (look for the large trailhead sign).

How to register: This program is free with paid entry or use of a Texas State Parks pass, however, space is limited.  Please contact Park Headquarters to register.
