Spend a reel-y fun afternoon at the lake!
This hands-on program is perfect for kids and beginners, with plenty of time for questions and practice. We’ll go over simple gear, easy casting techniques, and the kinds of fish that live in Lake Somerville. Come cast a line, enjoy the outdoors, and see what you can catch!
We will have fishing rods available, but feel free to bring your own gear if you have it. No fishing license required for this program.
When: Saturday, September 5 from 1:30 to 3:00pm
Meet: Day Use Area - look for white state park truck and program sign.
Bring: water, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, fishing gear if you have it
This event is free with park entry: $5 per person, kids 12 & under free. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass.
