Coffee with the Birds: Winter Birds Hike

Join us for a one-hour guided bird walk and discover the secret lives of Central Texas winter birds. January is an ideal time to slow down, observe, and learn as mixed-species flocks move through the park and raptors hunt over open fields.
What to Expect:

Possible sightings of winter “snowbirds” such as Yellow-rumped Warblers, Cedar Waxwings, and American Robins

Perhaps spot Sparrows and finches hiding in brushy areas

Maybe see Northern Harriers and American Kestrels hunting over open fields

Instruction on Leave No Trace practices to help protect wildlife
Meet Trail: Two Bridges Trail is a 1 mile, Level 2 Hike - Woodsy, crossing bridges and creeks.
What to bring:
- Your favorite travel mug of coffee
- Binoculars (if you have them; we've got a few to spare)
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Dress in layers
- Water and Snacks
- Bug Spray and Sunscreen
- A camera to capture the sights and sounds of nature
- Helpful if you download Merlin Bird ID & eBird apps for the hike
