Find out how young men trying to survive the Great Depression built over 800 state parks - including Caddo Lake State Park!

The Civilian Conservation Corps, one of President Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal programs, was one of the greatest success stories from the Great Depression. Young men from all over the country left home with hopes of a paycheck to support their families and 3 square meals a day in exchange for building state and national parks and doing other conservation projects. Find out how these young men lived, worked, and played, and check out pictures from the archives, as well as replica brochures, handbooks, and even a uniform. Meet at the fishing pier parking lot. This program is "come and go" at your leisure, but bring a chair if you would like to stay for a while.

Outdoor programs are subject to cancellation due to weather conditions. Children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There is no fee for the program, but park entrance fees apply.
