Seek our Slithering Serpents

They're all around us. Legless. Unblinking. Cold-blooded. Sliding silently over the ground, seeking their prey. When they find it, they unhinge their jaws to swallow it whole. They can climb trees and walls. They can sense your body heat. And they're some of the most fascinating creatures that exist in Texas. Join a Park Ranger for a quick discussion Lockhart's local snakes, followed by a short hike to look for these amazing reptiles in their natural habitat.

Where: Lockhart State Park Headquarters

What to bring: water, close-toed shoes, and a flashlight

Normal Park Entrance fees apply, please use the self-pay station after the office is closed.

P.S Were there even snakes in "Twilight?" Not that it matters; we get to talk about fangs no matter what, and snakes are cooler than vampires anyway. Want to learn why? Come to the hike.
