Moth Mayhem
Sat, October 10, 2026
Meet a ranger and see how many moths we can find!
Enjoy Lost Maples after dark and meet some of our nighttime friends. Moths play an important role in our environment, from pollinating plants to being food for other critters. Drop in any time between 9 and 10 p.m. to learn more and enjoy the diversity of moths and other nighttime insects!
When: October 10 at 9:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Where: The overflow parking area
Bring: Bring water, a flashlight, and personal seating. Wear dark colored clothing and long sleeves to reduce the number of insects that try to land on you. Dress for the weather!
Cost: This program is free with admission to the park. Day passes are $6 per person 13 and older. Park admission is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. Please make a day pass or camping reservation in advance, as we will likely sell out of day passes for weekdays and weekends during the fall.
Note: This program may be cancelled due to the weather. If cancelled, this posting will be updated. Please contact park staff for weather updates and more information.
