Timberdoodle Trek and Owl Prowl
Sat, February 07, 2026
Join us for a night hike to find these quirky nocturnal birds!
The American Woodcock is an enigma among birds. Strange-looking, secretive, and quirky the "timberdoodle" loves to hide in grassy fields and open forest. The exception is late winter when males show off with their display flights. It is something to see and hear.
Since we'll be out in the forest at night, we will might as well try to find a few owls, too. Learn about these nocturnal birds of prey and the niche each one fills.
